Who is Katie Couric’s Husband?
On June 21, 2014, John Molner wed Katie Couric a famed news anchor. The ceremony took place at Couric’s house in the Hamptons. Couric’s spouse Jay Monahan dἰed of colon cἀncer in 1998, and in 2018, she told-
“It took me a long time [to marry again] because I loved being married and I love being married now. And I don’t live alone either. To put it simply, I enjoy the company of others.”
“And John is so hilarious, she went on. He is not one to take life too seriously and has a dry, witty sense of humor. And he’s just a lot of laughs to be with.”
Molner received an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business after studying at Trinity College. Molner retired from the banking industry in 2014 but continues to serve as a Senior Adviser for BHH Capital Partners.
Molner appeared alongside his wife in a cookery show called Full Plate With Katie & John in 2017. Together, they established Katie Couric Media, which “collaborates with some of the world’s biggest brands to create elevated, purpose-driven content.”

When did John Molner wed Katie Couric, First Meet?
In 2012, Couric asked her friend Molly if she knew any available surgeons, and Molly referred her to Molner. Molly informed her she didn’t, but that she did have a banking acquaintance Couric might like. Couric asked her friend once again, causing Molner to ask her out on a dἀte after she hadn’t heard from her.
Couric admitted:
“Sometimes we get angry at each other,” telling the source, “Sometimes I feel like he can be tough and I’m sure he thinks I’m insane.”
But generally speaking, he’s a great company… and I feel quite comfortable being myself around him, perhaps even to a fault. She gushed, I couldn’t be happier with my husband.

Katie Couric and Molner are childless, however, she has two daughters from a previous marriage to Monahan in 1989. Carrie attended Stanford University and earned a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University; her daughter Ellie also attended Yale.
Ellie stated-
“There are moments where I crumble at the thought of my father.”
She “longed to talk to him” about the historical occasions she studied in her college course on the Civil War and Reconstruction, and she expresses sadness over his absence at significant life events.
